What are the benefits of IPL treatments?
Intense pulse light (IPL) treatments can
erase unwanted skin discolorations and blemishes giving your
complexion a smooth, rejuvenated and youthful look. IPL is
effective for removing red and brown spots, rosacea-redness,
sun damaged skin, age spots, freckles and much more. IPL is
a proven and effective treatment for men and women.

How does IPL treatment work?
IPL is a safe, non-surgical method for removing unwanted
skin discolorations by applying therapeutic ‘pulsed-light’
to the surface of the skin. The therapeutic light is
attracted to the pigment of the skin discolorations. When
the light reaches the pigment, it is converted to heat
energy. The heat fragments the skin discoloration into
smaller pieces, thereby allowing the body to absorb and/or
shed pigmented particles. IPL is a safe, non-invasive skin
treatment that is effective for men and women.

treated. All consultations are FREE.

What can I expect during an IPL treatment?
IPL treatment will take place in our office. Protective
eyewear is worn to shield you from the bright light. The IPL
technician will apply brief pulses of therapeutic light to
the skin through a handpiece. The treatment can take several
minutes to one hour depending on the size and number of
areas being treated. A cold compress may be applied after
the treatment.

-
Does IPL treatment hurt?
During the procedure, you may feel a slight pinch, often
described as the light ‘snap’ of a rubber band. Anesthesia
is usually not required.

How long does IPL treatment take?
This procedure takes several minutes to one hour, depending
on the size and number of areas being treated. The IPL
SkinStation system is able to treat areas of the body at a
much faster rate than most lasers – cutting treatment time
in half. Hair removal of the lip can take as little as 5
minutes whereas a treatment on your full legs can take up to
an hour. It depends on the area of the body being treated
and density of the hair.

Can
anyone have IPL treatments?
Light-based therapies such as IPL are attracted to
color. The risk of irregular skin color changes
following IPL treatment increases with tan or dark skin.
Avoid direct sun exposure or sun tanning booths before
and after IPL treatments..
If you have a history of oral herpes, prophylactic
antiviral therapy may be necessary.
IPL treatments will NOT be performed on pregnant or
breast feeding mothers.
Inform us if you are using (or have used) acne
medications or creams such as accutane , retinol, retin-A
or similar. Use of these medications can negatively
affect your skin’s reaction to laser treatments.
People with a history of epilepsy and / or seizures must
notify the IPL practitioner before treatment begins
